A WORD FROM OUR ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Welcome to BOLCA Prep Athletic Department! I encourage you and your family to become involved in our athletic programs. Extracurricular activities such as interscholastic sports are an important component of the student's experience here at BOLCA Prep. Athletics help provide an opportunity to learn many life lessons and develop qualities through participation that will help student-athletes reach their potential as a future Christian leader.

Our student-athletes and coaches are hard at work in class and in practice, “My vision is to build and maintain championship traditions that will define BOLCA Prep Athletics. While building a program that will continuously strive to produce student-athletes who first and foremost have an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and who can perform at the highest level within the sport in which they participate”.

Our athletic programs will continually strive for excellence as we compete for championships in many different athletic venues. We at BOLCA Prep look forward to serving your family as we partner together to build "Champions for Christ".

BOLCA Prep is a member of the Florida Private Schools Athletic Association (FPSAA). FPSAA gives us the opportunity to be competitive and play teams that represent the same core values and beliefs that we have.

I offer my sincere thanks to those of you who have supported Eagles Athletics thus far. If you have not yet joined The Eagles Nest, I encourage you to partner with us to invest in the future of BOLCA Prep Athletics, and I look forward to enhancing the Eagles Pride experience for our student-athletes with your support.” Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

D.L. Shavers, Sr.

FINAL FOUR

2015 FPSAA CHAMPIONS.

Posted MARCH 09, 2015

After losing in the state championship game last season the Eagles of Bolca Prep return to the big dance this season and after trailing 56-55 with 1:43 left in the game Coach Shavers took a time out and took a deep breath before reminding the team about last year’s heart-breaking overtime lost that left many of them crying. That is all it took to get the eagles back on track.

The eagles went on a 12-4 run to close out the game and win the school’s first state championship in its short history.

With senior guards, Deandre and Rashaad Woodard leading way, the twin brothers promised to do everything in the power to make sure the eagles didn't go out like last season. And they delivered on their word Deandre finished 17 point 8 rebounds 3 assist and 2 steals while Rashaad finished with 15 points  10 rebounds 3 assist and 3 steals. The MVP of the game was junior point guard Kvon Williams who lead the team all game long and proved to be the game changer throughout the course of the game with his decision making, he finished with 6 points 15 assist 5 steals and 4 rebounds.

There were a few surprises during the game most noticeably junior guard Daqwan White who’s known for his scoring and high-flying dunks. This season took the back seat on the scoring end and became a facilitator leaving the opposing team scratching their heads after knowing he led the team in scoring all year long with 18.3 ppg.  He finished with 8 points 8 assist 4 steals and 5 rebounds. Sophomore guard Cordell Moore had  the chance to show the coaching staff, that Coach Shavers can have faith in him going into next season as he put on a scoring clinic in the second half scoring all 10 of his points when the eagles needed them most in clutch situations. Senior guard Javon Johnson hit a clutch 3 pointer to put the Eagles up for good 61-60.

Other notes: both Sophomore forward, Jihad Abdul-Wahab and Junior Forward Kourdell Foster both fouled out of the game before finishing with 3 points 5 rebounds 2 blocks and 3 points 4 rebounds. Sophomore guard James Edwards had 2 points.
